POST 239 AUXILIARY

Who We Are, What We Do...

The Post 239 Auxiliary is a patriotic women's service organization founded to suport the work of The American Legion. The organization sponsors volunteer programs on the local and national level focusing on three major areas; veterans, young people, and the community.

Supports the American Legion and its programs for veterans, young people, and community.
Provide for today's needs while being advocates for a brighter future.
Advance the understanding of patriotism and responsibility of citizenship.
Promotes individual integrity and family values.
Ensures as volunteers, that Auxiliary members continue to be the leaders of all that is good in the nation today, tommorow
, and for generations to come.

September 17, 2009

Post 239 Auxiliary receives certificates recognizing renewal of members and exceeding membership goals. Nancy Sutherland represented the Auxiliary during a recent Hostess Party where the awards were presented.

Membership Criteria

The Auxiliary is currently seeking new members. The mother, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, great granddaughter, or grandmother of members of the American Legion, and deceased veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during war periods are eligible. Meetings

Meetings are held every third Thursday of the month in conjunction with, but seperate than, the general membership meeting.

Aug 24, 1982 - Jul 31, 1984 Lebanon/Grenada

Dec 20, 1989 - Jan 31, 1990 Panama

Aug 2, 1990 to today Gulf War/War on Terrorism
